Magento online store for tough mobile phones launched by Fuse
- 5 April 2011
Fuse have been working with Tuffphones, the online retailer of 'tough mobile phones' and are proud to announce the launch of their new Magento 1.5.0.1 site today.
With search engine optimisation fully in mind, Fuse have ensured that the site gets off to the best possible start. The Magento platform provides search engine friendly URLs and an intelligent 301 redirect system built-in which means none of their previous link building efforts will be wasted.
The development of the site has included a number of bespoke elements combining the core Magento code with custom javascript and php on the homepage, and a complete revamp of the product page code.

The design brief specified that customers should be able to buy the phone or receive the phones free depending on the type of contract required.
As well as the front-end, Fuse has created additional tables in the Magento database to accomodate all the extra information required. A number of new back-end admin screens have also been designed and built to track customer's contract applications.
Tuffphones sells a range of tough rugged phones from manufacturers such as JCB, Land Rover, Motorola, Nokia and Samsung. All of which are designed to last and survive in the harshest of conditions. The bulk of their customers are heavy machine operators, tradesmen and outdoor sports enthusiasts.
