SEO firms news - Media and search experts unimpressed by Yahoo re-launch
- 7 August 2009

Search engine optimisation (SEO) firms and experts around the world are studying the new Yahoo homepage design to consider making changes to search strategies.
But initial reaction from the media and commentators is apparently muted with many unimpressed by the re-launch - which is likely to mean that Bing, the new Microsoft search engine rival, should continue to take market share from the second largest global search player.
"Yahoo: 'Most Significant' Change Fails to Wow" reads one headline - and "Yahoo Redesigns Homepage, But Not Enough" states another.
There is speculation in the media that Microsoft may again try to buy Yahoo to create a significant challenge to Google's current dominance in the search industry.
If the two search underdogs, Yahoo and Bing, can begin to take some market share from Google, SEO firms will need to pay more careful attention to characteristics and algorithmic issues associated with the search giants rivals.
